WALKIE TALKIE FAITH: A heart-to-heart journey with God
About the Author:
I took the above photo during what we locals refer to as The Golden Hour. It may look like I live on a tropical island - I actually do. My island home is Magnetic Island, located in North Queensland, Australia.
Blessings abound in many other ways as well - a special mention to my two daughters and four grandchildren. I treasure you beyond measure.
I was fortunate to attend Harvest Bible College in Melbourne where I gained a Certificate IV in Ministry. Other memorable moments include leading women’s retreats, Bible studies, home groups and organising morning-teas to support women impacted by cancer.
My aim has always been to have a genuine, honest relationship with God regardless of my circumstances. If one person is encouraged by my short stories about God in the everyday-ness of life, and during tragedy, my mission is accomplished. God can speak to you anytime and anywhere if you are tuned to His frequency. This is easily done by having a heart-to-heart relationship with Him where you can be genuine, honest and open.

Monthly Reflection: June 2025
Hi, I'm Jenni's close friend and I was also the ghostwriter for Walkie-Talkie Faith.
Today is my birthday and I'm getting 'up there' (wherever 'there' is) in years. I hear people say, "Where have all the years gone?" and I'm certainly beginning to know what they mean!
I know for many people the subtext beneath this question is often tinged with regret for missed opportunities.
I've been having a phrase roll over and over in my head lately and it's this, "Only what's done for Christ will last." This has been incredibly reassuring. The depth of truth in those few simple words silences all doubt and striving.
And 'what's done for Christ' can literally be anything - it's all about motive and wanting to give God glory through serving. It could be checking in on an ill or elderly neighbour regularly, committing to pray for someone, writing a Christian novel (heh heh), being the best mum or dad you can be with God's help, having daily time talking to and listening to God. The possibilities are endless.
Having the opportunity to be part of the creation of Walkie Talkie Faith has increased my own faith ten-fold and given me a different purpose. May you also be blessed as you read this and remember amidst all the striving and searching life can force upon us, "Only what's done for Christ will last."
